I don't think "Permission Denied" is that kind of error. I am with Rich. 
I think Tim has a configuration problem of some sort. I am not sure if 
he checked what Rich was asking about. I think he needs to see WHICH com 
port the successful programs are using. Having listened to a few 
customer support scenarios, when the response repeated that it worked on 
the other programs, and not that he verified the configuration of the 
working program, and that it did have COM1 defined as the port to use, 
it at least raises the question as to whether there may have been a 
miscommunication.... between the people, not the computer and GPS :-)
