Can you train our volunteers to do any of these tasks?

Just ask Phil, I know pretty much the levels of everything. We have plenty
of AGP video cards, but it would probably be best to go through them and
also sort them by memory size, and I'd say anything that is less than 32 MB
goes to recycling. Also, the tote that holds the AGP cards is pretty much
overflowing. We're low on PCI sound cards and video, so we can build up
stock on those. We're okay on hard drives, and we're very well set on
optical drives. I think we're okay on keyboards, mice are always nice to
have. The major thing we need is RAM, since most of the systems use DDR or
newer RAM, with a few RAMBUS machines. We may need to resort RAM, as it's
all gotten mixed up, and the ancient RAM that we use for keychain fobs
should be set aside in boxes, recycled, or perhaps invest in buying keyrings
and putting the RAM on there, then selling them.

Yes, it really is that simple.

Discussions about what to do with surplus are ongoing. At the moment we
don't have a great deal to send to eBay but that could easily change when we
start getting more donations. We have a lot of ancient and/or broken laptops
that we need to get rid of after the hard drives are either destroyed or
wiped. We need to make a decision about what to do with these. I am working
at determining minimum/maximum stock levels for various components.
