[frgeek-michiana] Re: LTSP terminal or lab workstation?

This EasyPC is basically a PDA with a large screen. Debian and Ubuntu both have
arm ports (as well as NetBSD.) I think Ubuntu's is actually a little more
advanced because Canonical is actively going after the mobile/netbook markets.
I would think the biggest concern with getting Linux running on this thing is
driver support. Also, is it just me or does this company seem like it's trying
to knock off the BenQ name?

Provided it is possible to netboot the device, you should be able to nfs mount
root on a i386 server. If you had a mix of arm and i386 clients, you would have
to maintain the kernels and distros separately on the server, but I think it
should be possible.

The cost of these is quite a bit higher than $80, but if you're looking for a
killer low power nettop running an atom, you can't beat the acer revo right now
for price. I want two of these. The nvidia ion platform can do
hardware-accellerated blueray-quality video playback in linux using ~22W
(Unfortunately the proprietary nvidia graphics driver is required.)
