The big score for me personally wasn't even Free Geek related.
Long story short in early 2008, The WNIT analog transmitter went kaput.
FCC, said no problem, go digital, signal WAS FINE w/ my digital box
when the local area went digital, signal suddenly got crappy (even
though they were already digital)
so I needed a TV signal amplifier to get a better signal.
Found one dumpster diving very close to what I was pricing....
WORKS great - awesome signals now...
One mans junk is another man's treasure...
Oh, funny story dept:
After the fork lift had run out of propane and we were waiting for
the temporary propane canister, Albert, Sarah and myself were standing
around talking. Eventually, we all finally stopped because we kept
hearing 'this conversation'... We all look around but no one is there...
Finally a search ensues. Turns out a battery powered TV in the bottom
middle of a pallet had managed to turn itself on and was receiving a
valid TV signal from someplace! Even funnier, it ran for almost 2 hours
before it finally gave it up and quit!
