OK, so what should I do now? Can I just start a new file with the same name as the one I deleted using "touch"? =20 -----Original Message----- From: foxboro-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:foxboro-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Schouten, Frits JF Sent: Wednesday, September 22, 2004 2:53 PM To: 'foxboro@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: Re: [foxboro] /opt partition keeps filling up Normally it's not a good thing to just delete the log file. Logging carries on as per normal to the file you've just deleted but now you can't see it any more. A better way of reducing(emptying) the log file is to do a 'cp /dev/null logfilename'.
