Joe,

That paragraph I attached is straight out of ;

NTP TimeSync User Guide
(NT Rev 6.2.1) (Unix Rev 7.0.0)

NTP TimeSync SD 983-097B
Utilities Engineering , The Foxboro Co. January 2003

So I assume you are using that package, maybe an earlier or later version

FV/FD V9.0.4 is the latest/last version for NT
AIM V3.3 is the latest/last version for NT

The advisories Schneider/Foxboro sends out twice a year on DST for the most
part
center around Foxview , AIM and the CAD (and the other instances, AHD,MRD,
etc.) as applied to
the system you are referencing.

Below is from the same document referenced above, initial setup

5. Edit the file d:\opt\foxind\NTPTimeSync\data\TZOffset to contain the
seconds
offset from GMT time that you would like the I/A’s system time to be
set to. (i.e. for
Eastern Standard Time Zone with the time source’s time set to UTC,
place –14400 in
this file, which will set I/A’s system time 4 hours behind UTC time)

6. Reboot the AW.

I have never used this package so I am assuming that you have few choices
here:

1. Compensate for DST by adjusting TZOffset twice a year

2. Use an NTP Time Source with DST and manually adjust the SMDH time twice a
year

3. Talk to Sylvain Nadeau in the Montreal office to see if he will still
sell TCP TimeSync for NT

I would also contact your local Foxboro Sales Rep. , Foxboro Service Rep.
for consultation on a System Upgrade.

Regards,

Scott

Scott,
I understand automatically adjusting for Daylight Savings Time is not
available with this set up, I just want to do it manually. You mentioned
"the standard I/A Series documentation". Is there a specific manual on this
subject? A search brings up tons of advisories but as one states... "This
Advisory does not apply to I/A Series running WinNT. There are no patches
to support this older OS". ;-(

Brahm,
Thanks for that explanation. I learn something new every day...
