I haven't done this in 3 years at least, but I have had pretty good luck using the HP Jetadmin software to do this. First you will need to get the jetadmin software for your version of Solaris. I found this on HPs web site, but it was several years ago. I have included a link on how to setup the software once you get it. http://www.artwork.com/support/unix/jetadmin_solaris.htm After it is installed, you need to edit the /etc/printers file to make the new printers available to the I/A system. Probably a good idea to back this file up first. I od'ed and it looks like it's just tabs separating the fields. Mine looks like this #pg /etc/printers hp4 0010 PS Laserjet 4 hp5 0010 PS Laserjet 5 This seems to work well for printscreens, and normal printing functions from I/A. I have not had good luck using this setup as an alarm printer. Hope this helps. Regards, David Johnson "Quote me as saying I was misquoted."
