Tom -

Based on my investigations yesterday, I can explain/summarize what you're
seeing. When the parameter goes out of range, the ERROR bit is set.
Depending on the setting of BADOPT (and the direction of the out of range
condition), the BAD bit may also be set. If both bits are set, then the
BAD (red) takes priority over the ERROR (bright green) for display
purposes.

             My observations about the bright green background of any AIN
block .MEAS or .PNT parameter configured on any graphic or on the detail
displays. =20
             It is associated with the BADOPT setting in the AIN. The BAD
status bit must be imbedded and passed within those parameters anywhere
they may be referenced. There seems to be a normal text background
color convention that is hidden from the users' view that functions in
the following way based on the setting of the BADOPT parameter:

If BADOPT =3D 0 and the points BAD STATUS is FALSE but the block is high
or low Out of Range the normal text background color is GREEN. If Bad
Status is TRUE the color is RED

If BADOPT =3D 1 and the points BAD STATUS is TRUE or Low-Out-of-Range is
TRUE the normal text background color is RED. If only High-Out-of-Range
is TRUE the color is GREEN

If BADOPT =3D 2 and the points BAD STATUS is TRUE or High-Out-of-Range =
is
TRUE the normal text background color is RED. If only Low-Out-of-Range
is TRUE the color is GREEN

If BADOPT =3D 3 and the points BAD STATUS is TRUE or Low-Out-of-Range is
TRUE or if High-Out-of-Range is TRUE the normal text background color
is RED.

Below is the parameter description for BADOPT

BADOPT=20
Bad and Out-of-Range Option is a short integer option that specifies the
conditions that set the BAD output true. Values are:=20
0 =3D Bad Status only=20
1 =3D Bad Status or Low Out-of-Range (LOR)=20
2 =3D Bad Status or High Out-of-Range (HOR)=20
3 =3D Bad Status or LOR or HOR.=20
The default value is 3. Bad Status is a Logical OR of bad ECB status
(that is, the FBM or FBC itself is bad) and bad channel status (that is,
the connected point is bad). If there is no FBM or FBC connection, then
Bad Status is considered to exist when MEAS is linked and has bad
status.

This new normal text background color convention seemed to magically
appear when we upgraded from Ver.4.11 to Ver6.2.1
