[foxboro] "Less than" sign on DM graphics

I just found that when I use the "less than" sign (<) in overstrike text on a
Display Manager graphic, the text does not show up in DM, even though it looks
fine in Display Builder! Has anyone seen this before? I couldn't find info
about it in a quick search of the manual or online, but I'm sure I'm not the
first to discover it.
I guess DM is interpreting it as a comment or code or something? Interested
in knowing more...
