I have found a post on the internet that states you can point one IMC to
multiple relay servers. This is a quick read and the link is below:
http://www.winnetmag.com/MicrosoftExchangeOutlook/Article/ArticleID/19716/19
716.html

I have not yet tested this, so I will do so and report back to the group.

As far as the selection below, that is how I currently have planned the
rollout. My only hangup with this solution is I am the only Exchange admin
in our organization and if I 'ever' get to go on vacation (you know murphy's
law) I would not feel comfortable walking someone through the process of
switching the IMC routing preference.

Now another small issue in this... If the above link works in Exchange
5.5, then I have my internal solution (create multiple IMC's on separate
Exchange servers and point each IMC to the 2 relay servers).

Now I only have to find a way for IIS to point to two separate IMC's in the
event the primary Exchange server goes down.... Any ideas?

I agree with John.

Setting up the smarthost is the easiest and in my opinion, the best way to
go with an Exchange SMTP relay.
