When you have two DCs in your domain, you can configure replication
between the two. In AD Sites and Services expand rhe server. Right click
on NTDS settingsand select Properties on the General Tab check the
Global Catalog. Do it on both DCs.

How do you set a backup global catalouge? What I know is that you can
have only one GC per domain, I rather have 2 or more or at least a
backup one that will be GC automatically if the GC fails instead of
manually assigning another server to be GC and transferring the
operations master if the GC fails.
How do you do that?

I have a very strange problem. Our E2K was installed on windows 2000
advanced server working as DC. It was working properly but after we
changed the server to be a backup global catalog, when I add any user
with a mailbox, the user created properly but the exchange server does
not show the mailbox in the storage group even no e-mail addresses
created for that user.
Your help is appreciated.
Note. This server is the only mail server in that domain.
Thanks in advance
Ashraf
