Absolutely start in elementary schools. In America it was taught as an
art...with pens and ink bottles. Shaping the letters was a struggle but you
learned to appreciate all the letters in your name first and took pride in
that. Then on to your favorite family member's name, and so on. Make it
personal. Make it real.

Use geography with a family history relationship...they'll never forget it,
and build on it.

supposed to be taught at the elementary level, after printing, why is it
that I've never had a pupil who knew how to write in cursive? Perhaps some
elementary school ETNIers might relate to this.
