First off our tile project will suck up a lot of my time, so the Elky
may sit with no oil for a while. We picked up the tile & supplies
today, so we're under way...
On the rear main seal I used the special rear main seal for a line
honed 400 block (Fel Pro 2909). However I didn't check any
measurements, I guess I hoped it would work as is... I have since read
more about that seal and in some cases the seal needs to be shimmed
for correct clearance (?).
I used the one piece Fel Pro pan gasket... not sure what I'll do with
the new pan. I also need to put oil return bungs in the pan...
Oh and the "Metric Chassis" description, I'd heard that from the
circle track racers... and there is no doubt there is a fair
percentage of roundy round guys you could classify as "hillbillies",
"rednecks", etc..
