2nd and 3rd symbols = series

D = Classic
3rd and 4th indicate body type:
80 = 2 dr sedan pickup
5th indicates engine
D = 250 6cyl
L = 350 V8 (4 bbl)
Q = 305 V8
U = 400 V8 (4 bbl)
V = 350 V8 (2bbl)
6th symbol = year
should be a 6
7th is assembly plantg
D = Doraville GA
R= Arlington TX
l = Oshawa Canada
the last 6 symbols are the sequential unit production number for each
plant.
and another question - which dash panel did you get - the one with the
huge Fuel Economy gauge and the idiot lights or the sporty one with real
gauges in smaller holes?
