Hi everyone! My name ia Laura Luley. I am also in the Thursday night Tech in
the classroom class. I, unlike the majority of you, am not teaching anywhere
currently. I am a full time student, and i am actually getting my masters in
Recreation and Leisure studies. My undergrad is in Elementary and Special
Education from SUNY Geneseo. ( i am a VERY big fan of Geneseo :) ) I hope to
begin my teaching career this coming fall in New York City (but not in Harlem,
more like Mid-town Manhatten!) Eventually i hope to work more with youth
development programs in the school and the community. (hence why i chose the
recreation component for my masters)
I am originally from Utica. I attended Catholic school, and as the commercials
say on the radio, "I am very proud of that!" I am one of four children. I have
an older sister who is in the Navy and currently stationed in Japan. I also
have a younger sister who is 16 and a younger brother who is 14. So i fall
into the middle and am a typical second child and middle child :) I also have a
dog!
I hope to graduate in May, so on top of this class i am currently taking 3
other grad classes in recreation as well as an internship at Rocheter City
Parks and Recreation. It is very ineteresting working with the children at the
different community centers in the city, but a great experience!
I am looking forward to learning a lot in this class since as you can see i am
very good at the e-mail thing, but that is about the extent of my computer
knowledge!
