I don't think people are ever happy if they continually go back to a past iteration - whichever one was the "golden age" for them.

Some changes just can't be done without breaking links. Whether they could provide a way to enter an old link and get directed to the new one, I don't know. I would think it was possible but may not be cost effective.

Why don't these geezers offer an option to go back to 'traditional
mode' like we had when windoze 8 (and earlier versions) first came out
and the peoples couldn't find there way around the new fangled thingy ...

All the links are still there ... its just the front end ...

In time, the new fangled thingy gets general acceptance AFTER the
tweaks have all happened and everyone's happy!

us, but to nameless bureaucrats who are busy empire-building.

I have no doubt this new interface with the public is bright and
shiny and up-to-date. Too bright, too shiny to be useful to us grubby

I also have no doubt the screams of the general public will be
treated with the same disdain bureaucrats have always shown towards
the general public.</rant>
