Thanks for looking anyway, John. Between Rosemary and I we have come to the
conclusion that the biological father of the twins (including William Allan
Wright HART) was only truly known to the pregnant Hannah HART who may have made
up the story about having a fiancé, the son of the people in the 'big house',
who was killed in a horse-riding accident, etc to cover her own predicament.
However, I will keep looking in case the two names "William and Wright" were a
clue to the father.......who knows? It all happened over a hundred years ago
now as the twins were born in 1905 so the father (if the story is true) died
between 1904-1905.
Rosemary checked the 1901 census and found the following people.
1901 Census: Living at Ingleby
Ann Medd, head, widow, age 74
Isabella Hart, dau, widow, age 36
Hannah Hart, granddaughter, age 14 (ie. Isabella's daughter)
And living next-door to them was Henry Wright, age 70, occ. retired general
labourer. Now, it is possible that Henry had a son or grandson who visited him
and got to know Hannah from next-door rather too well? Certainly not "big house
- upper crust" though.
Unfortunately I used to subscribe to both Ancestry and Find Your Past but after
my husband passed away, they were luxuries that I could no longer afford. I
really appreciate the help and assistance that I get from this list of great
people.
