G'day again MAL (& the map luvin JOHN) ...
Please find the attached map that I've acquired in my travels.
It's for Moorabbin way back in 1852 and was copied from the Lands Dept
lads of the day ... not great quality, but not really relevant for me as
it was 100 years before my time, but your lad should have been camping
out somewhere on the map.
Wickham Road is marked, as are several blocks owned by said family, and
your Keys Road appeared a bit later as a dogs leg extended section of
Wickham Road after Chesterville Road appeared. My dad operated a small
factory in Keys Road in the 60s and as kids we worked weekends and
school holidays for him and collected soft drink bottles and the like in
the empty paddocks all around the area.
All good fun.
BTW, I tried a search in the pdf scan of the book but some of the
protections are locking out my free version of Acrobat ... any
suggestions welcome!
Cheers, ROB!
