I think what you're referring to is the bug reported to dokuwiki on April 8th, 2009 at http://bugs.splitbrain.org/index.php?do=details&task_id=1667 

The patch has been included in the latest darc.
If you don't want to download the darc, then use the temporary solution found at http://acidmartin.wordpress.com/2009/03/21/using-the-ie8-x-ua-compatibility-meta-tag/
