Hi Rod:
for the first audio track choose left input and for the second audio track
choose right input and arm both tracks for recording and you'll be fine.
good luck!

But, phill, in choosing a sound card, one can only choose one input at a
time for a specific card, right? For example, I have the delta 44, and
haven't been able to choose, for example, the left and right channel at the
same time. I always have to choose the left, or the right channel at a time.

in mono. Having saidHi Rod!!
I always record items such as kick, snare, guitars, vocals and bass guitarthat, if I had a drum or, keyboard sound that was stereo then, I wouldrecord 2 channels of it. Inother words, I would record it in stereo but, not using a stereo track. This is because, recordingthe sound as two mono tracks, gives me more control over it as I have twopanning controls andtherefore, can decide how much of the stereo spread the sound takes up inthe mix. For example, ifI had a keyboard coming into my sound card then, I would choose the twomono inputs from the deskand sound card for that track. So, I would chose, MOTU 1 for the leftchannel, and MOTU 2 for thestereo track.right channel, rather than choosing the stereo input.
If the sound that I am using is a DXi instrument then, I leave it as asome
