Frankly I don't see how you could have 1.3 gb of ram, unless your system only had 256mb to start which is really really low. You may have a celleron processor if you have a bargain basement system. And, your additional ram may not be the same as the original ram. You may want to take out the 256mb chip and give that a go. I read through chapter 47 and haven't found anything. Just to give some history which might help to make a diagnosis. I was beginning to have problems with 200 plus migs of memory so I upgraded to 1.3 and The jaws and Cake talk. It seems now the problem is worse. So could this give a clue as to what the problem could be. And when you do, list here all you've done so we don't cover the same ground again. Make sure your window settings are correct, refer to the CT setup files. There are two of them that you should go through which are in the setup menu for CT. Then go through lesson 57 of CT which deals with troubleshooting playback and recording problems HF ----- Original Message ----- From: THOMAS DE ROSA To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, December 02, 2006 4:57 PM Subject: [ddots-l] Re: problems after upgrade Phil, I turned them off and I still get the performance problems, dropouts and sluggish. I just upgraded to CTW 5.2 and jaws 7.0. I am getting a poor response lots of dropping out and slow performance when I open a project and try to do some work. Prior to the upgrade the software performed much better an occasional dropout but nothing like this. I would greatly appreciate any ideas, I'm a novice so I'm pretty lost. Almost forgot and this might be the most important piece, I also upgraded the pc's memory to 1.3 gig. I'm not having any problems in Outlook or any other programs. Thanks Tom
