Dear Kevin,

First of all, thank you for responding, my friend! Secondly, yes indeed, Sonar is in my start menu, as well as resident in my control panel as an installed program. An unsuccessful install was my first thought too, but upon checking it out, I found it there and in fact, I can start the program and run it (such as it is) by clicking on its desktop icon.

I have both used the upgrade executables that I downloaded during my first install of Sonar last year, as well as tried new downloads of the upgrade executables last night, but neither upgrade seems to find Sonar on my system. Weird, huh?

One notable thing though. In my haste to install Sonar, I thought that instead of searching for my install CD, I would install a Web version and plug in my serial number... bad idea. Once installed, I discovered that I had mistakenly installed version five. Of course, I had to uninstall that version, find my CD anyway, and reinstall Sonar version seven instead... wonder if some stray registry entries are screwing with me?

I will keep plugging away, and I am sure that something will either occur to me or someone else on this list. If nothing else, a reinstall will probably repair the problem... it's an old bothersome trick, but it works most of the time.

   Thanks much!

Billy

Billy,
While I don't recall ever seeing the "blind Install Page," my first
question would be, is Sonar 7.0 available in your start menu? Can you
establish that Sonar is indeed on your system to begin with, independent of
whether the upgrades see it or not?
Kevin

Dear Listers,

I had a catastrophic drive failure a few months ago, so I haven't been
around for a while with a business to run, new bride, etc.

I am finally getting around to reinstalling Sonar, CakeTalking, Sound
cards and the like. I seem to remember a page where it led one through what

to expect while doing a blind install of
Sonar. I can't seem to find that page... this is somewhat important,
because for whatever reason, I can not upgrade to Sonar 7.01 & 7.02. Sonar can't see Sonar 7.00 on my system for some reason. Obviously, I have to do
this before installing CakeTalking on my system.

#1, any suggestions as to the core problem would be appreciated, but if
not, #2, would anyone know where that blind install of Sonar page might be?

   Thanks much!

Billy
