Both the router and the PC card use 802.11b protocol. The router/main PC are on the 1st floor of my house & the secondary PC with the wireless card is upstairs. I use Road Runner cable to connect to the internet & according to their website, each time I connect I get a dynamic IP address. The router can act as a DHCP server & the card in the PC upstairs is also set up the same way. Both are set to use the same channel, 11. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Vernon Balbert" <vbalbert@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <computertalkshop@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, June 08, 2004 8:45 PM Subject: [CTS] Re: Setting UP a Wireless Network > Based on earlier messages regarding this, my first reaction is: are the > two cards using the same wireless protocol; i.e. 802.11a or b or g? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Computer Talk Shop http://www.computertalkshop.com Un-subscribe/Vacation, http://www.computertalkshop.com/list_options.htm List HowTo: http://www.computertalkshop.com/faq.htm To join Computer Talk Shop's off topic list, please goto: http://computertalkshop.com/other_cts_lists.htm ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
