I am slowly getting my computer back together after having to do a reformat
of the hard drive because of a bleeping piece of malware that get this
uninstalled my malware protection. Once I get things up again, I will see
if what I said still happens. Being too slow was clearly the problem I was
having, and once I picked up the pace at starting to load the IYP VA flight,
things mostly worked fine.

Hello,

I am sorry if I am getting into this mix wrongly, but it is the teacher in
me.

First Ron, awesome job on your first IYP VA run.

Now as for what you did and need to do, go back to the basics! I am getting
off the ground here. Although I've not flown for a while, I want to soon.
So I am reading the manuals repetetively. One manual I read was the special
user's manual we got for the beta test. I read version D. So go back and
read pages 40-50. There is a wealthy and detailed instruction set for the
VA. You probably did that, and in your zeal and excitement to do another,
you may have forgotten just for a moment. If that is not the case then
please except my apology. Again, the way I teach is through the problem
solving method. When a student gets lost when working with me, we work as a
team: going back to where they knew, asking questions, more questions and
working through the trip.

So, good job, and you will do fine. You are already ahead of me because you
flew a VA flight, so keep up the good work!

Captain Robert, if I am incorrect in the advice I gave, then I apologize for
that. By the way, I pasted Jordan's advice at the bottom for all of us.

Best regards,

Adam

You have to be a lot faster than that I have noticed. Don't bother shutting
down the Cessna's engines. Once you have selected your flight from the IYP
VA Panel and it is in your simulator, hit Alt, down arrow once to open the
file menu, and then hit enter. That will bring you into the load a flight
screen when you are in FSX. Hit I to go straight to the IYP VA flight and
hit enter. That should take care of this problem.

Ron,

Incidentally, you have a propensity to ignore my questions. Please let me
reiterate. I asked:

===================================================

Are the instructions are not accessible with your reader?

If this is the case, then perhaps I need to have Michelle speak the entire
instructions out loud.

Please let me know.

===================================================

PLEASE ADVISE.

That might be a good option Robert.

Thanks.

Especially for we still getting our feet wet with the first two or three
runs.

But I'm going to try Jordan's advice in the morning as well.

So thanks.

Just a thought.

Hi Ron,

REGARDING: Since IYP will not load until a aircraft is out on the runway, I
usually do the following.
1. Usually with the red and gold cessna with the tail number of N760 PL.
I make sure I hear it's engines running.
2. I think go and fire up IYP.
3. I shut down the cessna.
4. I using the voice command open v a pannel and go down to select the
flight I would like to fly and click in the available button.
Then I get the option to close out the va pannel or to click here to start
everything running.

The fact that you have loaded a Cessna, engines running, etc., is
completely unnecessary. It makes no difference what aircraft or flight you
have loaded. It does not matter if the engines are running not. The system
cares not whether the plane is on the ground, or in mid-flight.

Having ANY flight loaded, with ANY aircraft, at ANY state, merely tells IYP
that the system is running properly.

Do NOT mess with the current disposition of the current flight. The
instructions read:

Close the VA panel, go to your simulator's menu, and load the IYP flight.

It does not say, close the VA panel, go to your simulator, shut down the
engines, turn on the landing lights, etc., THEN go to simulator's menu, and
load the IYP flight.

Just close the VA panel, go to your simulator's menu, and load the IYP
flight.

Now, after saying that., let me ask this question.

Are the instructions are not accessible with your reader?

If this is the case, then perhaps I need to have Michelle speak the entire
instructions out loud.

Please let me know.

Thanks.

Robert

worked. What are you doing differently?

Well Robert.

I just checked the list of flights in the alt L field.

My most recent attempt IYP 255 is at the top of the list.

So this in the correct view option.

What next?

Thanks.

Hi,

REGARDING: you've selected the wrong aircraft

This means that you've selected the wrong flight.

It likely means that you have the TITLE list sorted in descending order,
instead of ascending order which will put the IYP flight at the very bottom
of the list.

Make sure that you are loading the IYP flight that starts with the string of
characters like...

_IYP

Hi to all.
Been attempting to link up with the IYP VA server.
I get to the point where it tells me that we need to synchronize to the IYP
VA server this might take a few minutes.
So I wait.
Then Michelle comes back and tells me that it looks like you've selected the
wrong aircraft please try again.
What am I doing wrong?
I usually do the following.

Then I get the option to close out the va pannel or to click here to start
everything running.
So I click on the clic here button.
I see that the va pannel brought me to the main page of FSX like if you were
going to go to the planner putton or to use the alt l to load a flight and
so on.
I go to use the alt l command and I get the normal message we need to file
your flight plan this might take a few minutes please wait.
So I wait then I hear it looks like you've selected the wrong aircraft.
Please try again.
Now I flown once.
Now how did I do it? GRIN.
Please help.
Thanks.
