School Closure due to Industrial Action

Due to industrial action, the school will be closed on Thursday 24 April.
You must make alternative arrangements for the care of your child on this
day.

The decision to close has not been taken lightly after seeking all possible
ways of reducing the disruption to pupils learning; however, as I am unable
to guarantee the safety, welfare and education for pupils, I have no
alternative but to close. Normal school operations will resume on Friday 25
April.

Year 6 Parents Meeting & Industrial Action

Whilst this meeting is possible during the industrial action, I have decided
to postpone the Year 6 Residential Visit Meeting for Parents to a more
suitable date. I will notify you of the revised date in a future
newsletter.

Care Club & School Closure

Due to the school closure, Broad Oak Services will not be operating the Care
Club for breakfast and after-school clubs.

Vacancy for Mid-day Lunchtime Supervisor (Welfare Assistant)

We have a vacancy in our lunchtime supervisory team and are seeking to
appoint someone with good communications who builds effective relationships
with children. Further information is available in an application pack from
the school office or from the school website from next week. You are
welcome to have an informal chat about the vacancy and the role with Mrs
Johnson, our welfare team leader, who is available during mornings in the
school office.

Parent Governor Appointment

The Governing Body is very pleased to welcome Mrs Joanna Clarkson as a
parent governor. As only one nomination was received there will be no
requirement for a ballot.

Environmental Sticker Competition

The Environmental Team are running a Sticker Competition. These stickers
are to promote positive ?environmental messages? through the school e.g.
saving energy, recycling etc. Entries should be provided on A6 size paper
and put in the box in the Library. Closing date will be Friday, 2 May.
Winning stickers will then be printed and displayed in school.
