Newsletter No: 23 Date: 9th March 2010. E Safety Meeting As I put on last week's newsletter - Mrs Barker and I will be holding an 'E Safety' evening, informing parents about the dangers of what can happen if the use of the Internet or Texts is not monitored correctly. It will take place in the school hall next Wednesday (17th March). It will start at 6.30pm and last for about an hour. Please note that it is not an evening for children to attend (as some of the video clips shown can be distressing), although if you would like to attend, but child care is an issue on that night, please contact me as soon as possible. Please remember that appointments can only be given if slips are returned. Class 3 Assembly This Friday (12th March) it is Year 3's turn to 'perform' an Assembly to the rest of the school. The Assembly will be about a 20 minutes presentation / production to the school. Any Year 3 parents / carers / family members who would like to join us for the Assembly are more than welcome to come along and watch them. Just like Praise Assembly - take a seat at the back and enjoy the show!! Sports Relief There again, this Friday (12th March) it is the Sports Relief Charity Day. To mark the occasion and raise money for this worthwhile charity we are suggesting that the children come in any Sports clothing for the day and pay a donation to Sports Relief (suggested donation of 50p per child). Active Travel Week Well done to all those children and parents / carers who managed to not use the car as much last week!! Don't forget to get those diaries into school as soon as possible!! If your child read a book for 10 minutes during the evening of every school day whilst they were in the Juniors (Key Stage 2), this would add up to 130 hours of reading. It is supposed to take a Year 6 child about 14 hours non-stop to read the most recent Harry Potter book (Deathly Hallows) - so during your time in the juniors with 10 minutes of reading per night - you could read it over 9 times!!
