Parents? Interview Evening

Parents? Evening will be held in school on Tuesday 24th March, 5.30 ? 8.00pm
and Wednesday 25th March,

3.30 ? 6.00pm. The purpose of this meeting is to enable you to discuss your
child?s progress and future targets for development. It would be helpful if
parents could return the attached slip for each child to the school office
no later than Friday 13th March. Appointments can only be given if slips are
returned.

Reminder- Year 3 Viking Trip

Payments for the Viking Trip on 11th March are due by tomorrow, Wednesday
4th March. Parents who have not yet done so should send in £12.50 (£10.80
plus £1.70 for lunch) or £10.80 if your child is entitled to free school
meals. As already mentioned, if we do not receive sufficient parental
contributions, the visit will unfortunately have to be cancelled.

Dinner Time Trophy

Our School Governors have kindly ?clubbed together? to buy a Trophy which
they have donated to the school. The Trophy is awarded to one class each
week who are recognised as being the best class during lunchtimes. Mrs
Johnson and her team of Welfare Assistants are looking every day for the
class of children who eat their dinner the quietest, show the best manners
to the dinner and welfare staff, play nicely during the lunchtime break and
who try to eat their dinner with as little fuss and mess as possible.

The Trophy was awarded for the first time last Friday and was presented by
Mrs Johnson to Year 6. Well done to everyone in Mr. Bromley?s class!!

Swimming ? Year 5

This is the last week that the children in Year 5 will need a pair of shorts
and a t-shirt, in addition to their usual swimming kit, for this week?s
swimming lessons.

Netball Success

Mrs Sutton was very proud of her Netball team when they played three matches
last week. They beat St Mary Magdalen?s 5-0, beat Our Lady and St. Gerard?s
3-1, but lost to Ashbridge 1-2. Everyone in the team played well and Kieran
Anson was voted player of the match. Thank you to Mrs Sutton, Mrs Oliver and
Mrs Longdon for supporting the team on the night.

Children Arriving Late For School

When I was in the school Car Park yesterday morning, I noticed that quite a
lot of children were arriving late, or being dropped off late for school.

Can I please remind parents that the school day starts at 8.55am, although
we do have staff on the yard from 8.45am onwards to ensure that the children
are safe if they arrive slightly early.

If your child / children arrive late for school it can impact on their
school day as they often start lessons unsettled and flustered. Making sure
that they are on the yard by 8.55am will help make them more ready to learn
for the day ahead.

Thank you in anticipation of your co-operation in this matter.

Lancashire Evening Post Green & Grow Vouchers

If you read the LEP newspaper you will have noticed that they are printing
vouchers which can be exchanged for school gardening equipment. Please send
the vouchers into school as and when you collect them. We can then order
some extra tools and equipment which the children can use in our award
winning Science Garden.

Yours sincerely
