Anne:
I'm not blaming bookshare, though I think a certain amount of bugginess was inevitable in the role-out. Any big website change is going to have problems like this. I guess the question is, how responsible can you hold a company for upgrading their product for a third party, anticipating the changes that third party will make and responding based on that third party's timeline. My expectations of a company's responsibility are lower in that situation than I think some of the people on the list. Humanware is a for-profit company and they're going to act accordingly. Once some of their bright bulbs figure out that if they don't upgrade to bookshare's new method people are gonna stop buying streams they'll upgrade quick. here's the other problem in my view (another poster mentioned this). They've essentially got the corner on the market. If another company was making a similar product you can bet they'd be racing to see who could accomodate bookshare faster. Since they do have a virtual monopoly it's going to take longer for it to sink in.

Anyway, my comments were more directed at trying to ensure this doesn't happen again; blame isn't really that useful.

Hi all

A.J., Nobody's blaming Bookshare. They are not at fault. Get it straight, friend. It's Humanware's fault that they are not ready and they don't have the common courtesy to send other than a blustering, half-assed, bandade press release. They need to stand up to the plate, admit they are at fault and tell us what they mean to do about it.
