Hi Cindy,

I already have something on him, but I am not really interested in it. Too many people will be writing about him. I am looking for something a bit more obscure, but that had an impact on society. Thanks for the suggestions. I will take a look at Amazon.

Hugs,

Maithe

I'd suggest Winston Churchill's Blood, Sweat and Tears
speech. I think it really rallied the English to hang
on and survive the Nazis.

If you put Famous Speeches in the Amazon place two
books that sound perfect come up. They'd be wonderful
additions to the collection, in case we want more than
what's already in there.

Hi Christine,

This is perfect! I can use some of these. I have
to write a 2000 word essay on a famous individual
whose speech made a difference. Yeah, I really hate
writing these things. I have to use citations,
etc., etc. and I am not a happy camper. Thanks for
the help...I really appreciate it.

Hugs,

Maithe

  Maithe,

I'm not sure if you're looking for books about
famous speeches or books of famous speeches. I found
four of the latter on Bookshare, and I've listed
them below. If you do a title search for "speech,"
you'll also find some books on Martin Luther King's
"I Have a Dream" speech, on the speeches of Mark
Twain, on some of Abraham Lincoln's most famous
speeches, and a few other subjects that may be
helpful.

The Words of Peace: Selections from the Speeches
of the Winners of the Nobel Peace Prize
  irwin Abrams (Editor)
Available from Bookshare in good quality

My Fellow Americans: The Most Important Speeches
of America's Presidents, from George Washington to
George W. Bush
  Michael Waldman (editor)
Available from Bookshare in good quality

American Speeches: Political Oratory from the
Revolution to the Civil War
  Ted Widmer (editor)
Available from Bookshare in excellent quality

American Speeches: Political Oratory from Abraham
Lincoln to Bill Clinton
  Ted Widmer (editor)
Available from Bookshare in excellent quality

  Hope this helps.

  Christine
