These are good speeches.

Also Robert Kennedy's speech at the announcement of the death of Martin Luther King is a good one.

Adlai Stevenson's speech at the commencement of the United Nations is also good.

Aba Eban of Israel made a wonderful speech at the end of the six days war. In 1967. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Grandma Cindy" <popularplace@xxxxxxxxx>

Gandi would be an excellent choice. The only reason I
didn't mention him is because of what you said about
probably other people taking him. I think one of his
most famous speeches was given thenight before the
salt march:
Again, like the famous abolitionist speeches, if didn't
immediately have results the the British leaving India
or allowing the Indians to make salt, but it did
inspire people to follow him and to act despite
consequences.

And his nonviolence speech to the all-India Congress
in August 1942 inspired not only is people but, as you
know, Martin Luther King and Civil Rights movement in
this country.

Malcolm X also made speeches that influence more
activist Civil Rights actions.

Thank you so much Cindy. This was very nice of you.
 I had actually thought
about Kennedy, but I am still trying to decide. I
was also considering
Mahatma Gandhi, but once again, I will have to do
some research. This gives
me a good starting point.

Warm hugs,

Maithe
