Maybe a committee could be formed. I remember that when at first, PQB appeared, others as well as myself provided info on the books from the back jackets. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Immarino" <johni2@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Subject: [bookshare-discuss] Books published on Bookshare without categories

In the last two days we've had 164 new books published on Bookshare without having any categories listed for them. This severely limits finding the books that you want. Today, for example, there was a new book called Tempest Rising. Reading the synopsis, it seems that this book should be categorized as Literature & Fiction, Mystery & Thrillers. If you do an advanced search for Mystery & Thrillers, obviously this book would not appear in the search results. Unless you search specifically for the title or author, this book is effectively eliminated from the database.

Perhaps the staffing at Bookshare does not afford them the time needed to categorize every book, but I think that the volunteers would be ready to step in, read the synopses, and categorize the books before they are published on Bookshare. Wouldn't this make more sense? To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank Email to bookshare-discuss-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Put the word 'unsubscribe' by itself in the Subject line.
