Mary - Nice to see you here. Yes, the headphone jack can be used to connect to virtually anything. I have one of those dummy cassette thingies that you can insert into a car stereo cassette player and it even works perfectly using that. You'll love your BP. One thing--the stereo channels are reversed on the BP so that when listening to MP3 or other full stereo files, left is right and vice-versa. You should be able to have a short cable made up for you by any competent electronics service shop that will correct this problem. Get a stereo mini jack on one end of the cable and a standard stereo mini plug on the other; then, plug this cable into the BP and connect your headphones or speakers to the cable. ----- Original Message ----- From: <maryemerson@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "Book Port List" <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, November 14, 2005 12:43 PM Subject: [bookport] new member Hi list, I just ordered a book port and downloaded the manual and am having fun reading it. I hadn't ordered a BP previously because I've got a pac mate and a Braille Lite Millennium 40, and thought I didn't need a BP; but with all the podcasts and MP3 files to listen to, and no quick way to hear them, decided to go for the BP. Am I correct in assuming the headphone jack can also be used to connect to a stereo or small speaker? APH is sure providing some fun holiday surprises this year! I purchased other products recently and will soon be getting another one. Mary
