Pam,
Well now, the bookport says not connected. Yesterday's problem Before this, I was able to transfer downloaded books from Kurzweil which did not show up in in BookPort. No No Kurzweil files showed up there.
I understand files not showing when they are not supported.
Thanks,
Sally

Sally:

If you are able to send a file, then I doubt that the cable is faulty.
If you can connect, disconnect, and reconnect with the transfer coming
up, then this would rule that out. The problem could be that the other
files you are trying to send are not supported by Book Port. Try this:

Go into Book Port Transfer, press alt plus l to see the files on the PC
that you are interested in sending. Once you've opened the appropriate
folder through that listview, if the files you are interested in do not
show up in that list, then that tells you that they are not compatible
with Book Port, because Book Port Transfer will only show the files it
supports. We need to know more about the origin of the files in
question and what their extensions are. If you can see the file, press
Enter on it and the file should transfer. There are other ways of doing
it, but by doing it this way, would answer the question of whether or
not the transfer program recognizes the files.

Thank you Pam!!!
Looks like we got it! There is only one MP3 file I am able send
through
Book port. All the others are in folders and do not appear when I
open
them.. Is this typical? I may have a faulty cable. Now all files
transfer, even from Kurzweil.
Thanks,
Sally

Sally:

As far as Kurzweil not recognizing the device, we will have to look
into it and see if this is something that occurred with the latest
update. Perhaps I should have explained that whenever you reformat
the
card, it is normal to lose all files. That's part of it. Now, when
you
plug back into the PC, the manual will be put on again. Can you
send
files through Book Port Transfer? In the meantime, try to send an
MP3
file, or even a book from the CD. Anything that will tell us if you
can
send files. It would also be helpful to know if you can see the Book
Port in Book Port Transfer. To do that, plug in the Book Port and
when
the software comes up, press alt plus f and you should be able to
see
the files on the Book Port. If everything is working correctly, you
should see the manual, and the notes folder. These are put there
automatically.

I reformated the bookport as suggested. So I lost all my books.
Now
Kurzweil says the selected device cannot be opened.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Sally
