The latest firmware does indeed support a 4GB card. This problem was supposedly fixed. It will be good to hear what the APH staff has to say.

When I connected the Book Port to the PC, the BP transfer software did not pop up like it did in the past. I started the BP transfer software manually, the status line said that the Book Port was not connected. However, Windows did chime as usual when I connected the BP to the PC. When I removed the USB cable from the BP and the PC, the BP was frozen and pressing any of the buttons accomplished nothing. I removed the batteries, which restored the unit. I reconnected the BP to the PC through the USB cable with the same result. I removed the batteries and restored the unit again. Rather than rinse and repeat, I removed the four gig CF card and re-inserted the 512 Meg card that came with the BP. The unit then functioned normally. I could access all the files on the CF card and play both the text (txt and Braille) and audio files with the navigation keys as usual. I also can transfer audio and text files like I did before the CF card crisis. Help! Is the problem with the Book Port or the new four Gig flash card? Is the card defective or just incompatible with the BP? What should my next move be to increase the storage in my Book Port? this situation is both disappointing and frustrating.
