I run quite a complex variety of USB devices (2.0, 1.1, 1.0) on both my work
and home machines and both are running Windows XP Pro with SP 2 installed
and I've had no USB-related problems of any kind that I can blame on the
operating system.

I'm glad you got that resolved, but I have been speaking to a friend of
mine who does not have a Bookport, but we were discussing the issues
with usb. It would appear that xp and usb 2.0 are not always on the best
of terms. It would seem that there has been problems with drivers and
such with xp and usb 2.0 functioning correctly with older 1.0 devices. I
can't give you an exact fix or cause of the problem, but it lies within
the os iteself. Xp presents a host of challenges and once I get the
chance, I'll see what other bits of info I can learn on this and if it
might be of some value, I'll pass them on. Sometimes my friend finds out
things or does his own testing which yeilds useful data to help resolve
problems. Well ok he's a hacker and programmer with one amazing ability
to solve strange problems. I myself do not have a box with usb 2.0, but
perhaps I can find one. I wonder though about the cable that is shipped
with the Bp. Can you use any usb cable, is there a usb 2.0 cable? Sorry
I'm a little slow in coming to the world of usb as I've only used it for
my wife's box for her camera. I myself use Linux as my preferred
platform and only use the windows box to transfer files to teh Bp.

Scott
