How are you going to access NLS books, though? Or have you stopped using those also? - Jackie McCraw ----- Original Message ----- From: Dan Rossi To: bookcourier@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, June 20, 2008 6:58 AM Subject: [bookcourier] Re: FW: BookCourier Oh well. They say it is on hold, but it sounds like indefinite hold since they will only review the prospect monthly. I've waited long enough and can't really justify waiting indefinitely. Sadly, this is one reason why I have been trying to get myself away from access specific hardware. My phone will do nearly everything the new BC would have done, the NLS books will be a work-around though. These days, I try to use as much off the shelf tech as possible. I haven't used an OpenBook or Kurzweil in years, why bother when my scanner comes with free OCR software. I guess this is the impetus I needed to start using other hardware. It was good while it lasted. -- Blue skies. Dan Rossi Carnegie Mellon University. E-Mail: dr25@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Tel: (412) 268-9081
