Allison, It didn't seem to bother the screen reader at all, but you do have to reconfigure Skype and make sure it uses your actual sound card instead ofthe replay sound driver. When it installs, it sets itself up as the default sound device under control panel/sound and sound devices and if Skype is setto use your default sound device, you will have trouble, so make sure toreconfigure Skype to not use the default windows device and use your actualsound card instead. --Warmest regards, --Rick Alfaro --rick.alfaro@xxxxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: blindreplay-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:blindreplay-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Allison Mervis Sent: Wednesday, February 28, 2007 10:41 PM To: blindreplay@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [blindreplay] Re: enhanced sound card Did it mess with your screen reader? I had to struggle with this issue the other day after purchasing Replay AV. It seems that no matter what I did, RAV would not record from my sound device. I have a Sony Vaio computer with Sigmatel HD integrated audio. With this particular sound device, the option is actually called Stereo Mixand not what you hear found on SoundBlaster cards. Even after making surethis was selected, RAV just would not work with it. I downloaded and installed the enhanced audio driver. Although this driver shows up incontrol panel/sound and audio devices, it doesn't show up anywhere in RAV,not even under the recording properties for a given event like recording from XM. Somehow however, now RAV is able to record from the sound card, but at a very low volume. I have to crank up the stereo mix slider in itsrecording properties but still don't get the volume I should be getting. Somehow I have the feeling that the enhanced audio driver did not install properly, but not sure. Any ideas on this? --Warmest regards, --Rick Alfaro --rick.alfaro@xxxxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: blindreplay-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:blindreplay-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of petrakigianos-giasou@xxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, February 28, 2007 12:52 PM To: blindreplay@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [blindreplay] Re: enhanced sound card Is this on a desktop or notebook PC? Some notebook PCs sound cards do not have the "mixer" option such as: what you hear, waveout. You need to havesuch option in order to record from your sound card's - audio output. Whenyou use RAV 8's stream capture method you will not need the "mixer", what you hear, waveout option. Sometimes your card has this option but you need to enable it - the what your hear, waveout option within your Sounds & Audio Devices in Control Panel. How does that work, and more to the point, does it mess with Jaws at all?
