The BARDtalk Web site contains tons of information concerning the NLS digital talking player, including a very detailed FAQ. It appears that the FAQ may not have been updated since 2011 but I'm sure most of the material contained in it is still current. It mentions that Bookshare content cannot be played on the player; this is actually not true as you can download Bookshare books as standard mp3 files. If you download the books as mp3 audio the NLS player will be able to play them.

I also made an error during tonight's call regarding determining the version of the player you have. With no cartridge in the player, press the sleep button ten times to get this information. The version and serial number will repeat until you press any other key to stop.

Here's the link to the Bardtalk site.
