Hi, David;
You'd think such an agency would be more diligent regarding keeping its website
updated constantly. Of course, it's sort of government related. Need I say
more? I suppose we ought to be grateful it exists at all. Anyway, thanks for
emailing the link for it. Take care.
Lillian

Subject: [blind-philly-comp] the BARDTalk Web Site
The BARDtalk Web site contains tons of information concerning the NLS
digital talking player, including a very detailed FAQ. It appears that
the FAQ may not have been updated since 2011 but I'm sure most of the
material contained in it is still current. It mentions that Bookshare
content cannot be played on the player; this is actually not true as you
can download Bookshare books as standard mp3 files. If you download the
books as mp3 audio the NLS player will be able to play them.
I also made an error during tonight's call regarding determining the
version of the player you have. With no cartridge in the player, press
the sleep button ten times to get this information. The version and
serial number will repeat until you press any other key to stop.
Here's the link to the Bardtalk site.
