No, this is definitely not normal! I still get roughly 30 hours out of my 
Braille Lite 2000, and the battery hasn't been replaced in a very long 
time, if at all. You probably need to send it to Freedom Scientific for a 
new battery. Make sure you tell them *exactly* what is wrong.
