Hello Larry and Robert, I have also scanned paperbacks on my OpticBook 3600 and, while they're not perfect, I also haven't noticed a consistent problem with missing characters from the binding. I'm quite sure the light doesn't go right up to the book edge, but I also doubt the distance is anything approaching an inch. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Larry Lumpkin" <llumpkin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, July 17, 2008 7:14 PM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: opticbook scanning I scan paperbacks on my opticbook all the time and haven't noticed that problem. My wife validates the books and she hasn't mentioned this problem to me. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robert Riddle" <captinlogic@xxxxxxxxx> To: <bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, July 17, 2008 8:07 PM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: opticbook scanning > That opticbook is best suited for hardbacks, rather than paperbacks.
