Sorry, Elizabeth. I don't understand what you mean. I don't move footnotes--I keep them where they are in the book and the scan--if they appear in the scan. I've noticed a lot of times they don't scan and I have to put them in. In going back to look at the books I've done, it's only been recently that I learned about, and then have started to, put the footnote numbers on the line with the sentence. Before that I superscripted them.
