It may be in the demo copy of Microsoft Office 2010, which is not activated.
Does Works have hard page breaks?

Sue, did your new computer come with Microsoft Works? You can't open a Word
file with Works, but you can open RTF files with Works.
Most new computers come with a 60 day trial of Word but usually also come with
the full Works which is a knock down version of Word.
