Hi Alyssa,

In Wordpad, you can tell when there is a page break because there is a blank
line between pages, and it preserves page numbers. However, it does not retain
HARD page breaks, and as far as I know there is no easy way to insert them in
Wordpad.

Hi Sue,

If the page breaks are already in the file, you can have JAWS speak them. I
imagine the same could be done with WindowEyes as well. If you’re using JAWS,
let me know, and I will look for what I added to my dictionary manager. My
guess would be that you could copy a page break if another needed to be added
somewhere and just paste it using Wordpad, but I could be wrong.

Hi Alyssa,

Yes, I do have WordPad and it will open RTF files, but you don’t have hard page
breaks. If I could use WordPad I could volunteer again!!! But Bookshare
demands those hard page breaks from us, even though the publishers do not have
to use them.

Hi Sue,

Are you using Windows. Wordpad should be on your computer. It is able to open
rtf files if that is of any help.

Okay, it is back on the checkout page. Please, people, do not think I am just
downloading books to read. I would never do that. It is just that with this
new computer, I cannot find a way to open RTF files. I guess I will have to
buy 2010 stuff.
