It's okay Sue, I totally understand. I have those moments myself, more
often than I'd like to admit actually! Not with Bookshare, but with many
other things. Some days, even the nicest, most giving, of individuals just
gets a little irritated by volunteer work. So don't worry. I've already
called off Marissa, Peter, and the attack dogs. Hah!

II don't know what got into me yesterday.. When I first became a member I
asked that I not be paid for validating--said that it is volunnteer work..
I was told that the payment of 50 cents plan couldn't be changed manually..
You and Allison are right, Cindy, and I apologize to the group for saying
what I said yesterday. I do not have scanning equipment so validating is
something I can do and because of my past work experience I have the
necessary skills..

Sarah, you do get 50 cents credit for validating. Most of us think it should be more, because in many cases the submitter doesn't do much to it before submission (there are quite a few exceptions, mainly the submitters that are here in the discussion group, so maybe "many" is not a fair word -- on the other hand, I don't know how many submitters are not in the discussion), and validating takes time and effort. Although if one is careful and downloads books from people like the ones here on the list, (I don't want to mention names because I'm afraid I'll omit someone) who do pre-validate before submitting, it's an easy chore and worth the 50 cents.

I do have that option checked, but I could sware I've never seen my E-mail address on the download for validation page for a book I have submitted. I aggree it is there for books that are in the collection. Are you sure you understood just when the address would be shown? Has anyone seen their E-mail address along with there name on the validation page?
