Hi All,

Requiring RTF as a submission format was a suggestion from the list (that came
up awhile ago) that I passed on to engineering, and I'm happy to share that it
will be implemented with the new site. In terms of converting to RTF the books
currently on the download list in ARK & KES formats: volunteers who have the
capability and are willing to do the conversion can download the book, convert
and upload it with a note in the comment section indicating that it has been
converted and needs to be returned to the download list for validation. Carrie
or I will then return it to the download list.

We have the capability in-house to carry out the KES to RTF conversion, but at
this point cannot convert the ARK files to RTF.
If there is a particular book you would like to have us convert from KES to RTF
please send me the title and author name.

FYI I converted A Cold Christmas by Charlene Weir from KES to RTF and returned
it to the download list today.
Another title that I went in to convert was: L'ENFANT'S LEGACY : Public Open
Spaces in Washington, D.C by Michael Bednar the file is listed as a KES file
but when I downloaded and opened it I discovered it was actually an RTF.
Unfortunately we don't have a way of editing the file type field. I have
returned it to the download list with a note in the comment section about the
actual file type.

Also: I received a request from a member who is interested in validating "Touch
and Blindness: Psychology and Neuroscience" a set of technical papers in ARK
format on the download list. She would like to have it in RTF format. If
there's someone willing to do the conversion on that that would be great!

All good things,
Pavi

Great suggestion Cindy.

As I see it, there is no reason why an Ark, Kes, or Wyn (spelling again?)
couldn't be translated by the originator to .rtf. Then any validator could
work on their book.

Should be a hard fast rule.

Bob (the dictator).
