And doing a disk clean up as the temporary internet files and cookies can wreak havoc sometimes, learned this one the hard way. In most Windows environments but can't speak for Vista or Seven as I don't have them, is under, accessories, system tools, Disk Clean up.

Don't forget to do a complete virus scan. You might also try rebooting your computer if you leave it on all the time normally._ _ _"Those who produce should have, but we know that those who produce the most - that is, those who work hardest, and at the most difficult and most menial tasks, have the least." - Eugene V. And I'm heartsickHi, I want to tell you I'm unhappy because I can't proofread anything orcheck in anything after proofreading. It turns out this is affecting only my computer. It's not the Bookshare site as far as I know. What happens is if Ipress Enter either for Check Out a Book or for My Checked Out Books, thepage doesn't really load at all. I'll hear a progress bar going up to 100% and then I hear "Internet Explorer is unable to display the web page." If Ihit the backspace key, I'm back in Volunteer Home. It's a case of "close, but not close enough" it's as if my computer will not, cannot get me intothe place where I can do anything regarding proofreading a book. This stateof affairs started about four or five days ago. On a more cheerful note,I've been able to get to the proofreading manual and I've read a lot of it. It's easy for me to navigate. I'm wondering if there are any troubleshooting tips if your computer won't even let you into the place where you can check out a book or deal in any way with a checked out book. Steps I have tried:1. Scanned my local disk. 2. Defragged my local hard drive. Results: Nochange. Someone is coming six days from now to look at my computer to see if I have a software problem which will result in me spending money. I want tothank Rob Turner at Bookshare Support for he tried to help me out. It'sreally horrid when every computer can go to the place I want to go and get there without the hassle. I didn't contemplate throwing a tantrum, throwing my computer out the window (decidedly counterproductive for obvious reasons I needn't mention). Let's just say my sense of humor isn't operating at thepresent moment. I hope to proofread something soon as I promised to do it and I wish to do it. I'm weird because I like doing it and there's no hardship for me to do it. Thanks and best regards, Kim.__________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signaturedatabase 5407 (20100829) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com To unsubscribe from this list send a blank Email to bksvol-discuss-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxxput the word 'unsubscribe' by itself in the subject line.
