I have the same kind of color associations as Kasondra, with the addition of musical notes. I have read that synesthesia is rare, but the more people I talk to, the more common it seems to be.

Some of my colors are different from hers, some are apparently the same: the letter l is somewhere between red and orange, I guess, but u is more brown than blue, and a is black.

Interestingly, for those familiar with Braille, all the dot combinations with similar shapes have similar - but not exactly the same colors. For example, p is bright yellow, while th sign is darker yellow, number sign is still yellow, but a little darker still, and v is somewhere in between p and th. Similarly, the letter n, the t h e sign, e d and z all have relatively close shades of red. I spaced these last two out so they would talk better.

Hi Guys,

There was something in the original post about blind people visualizing
Braille characters with colors. I have always done that. The letter u is
blue, and l is a shade of orange, and a is white. I see colors, so this is
not a stretch. I see print letters in very much the same way. I also
visualize numbers, days of the week, months, and other concepts. I don't
think I have ever tried to explain this to anyone before, but I have done it
since I was very young. By the way, I use the same visualizations whether I
am working in Spanish or English. Well, here are my weird thoughts.
