Hi, one good thing would be if keyword searches could be done; for example, if somebody liked Amish things, they could type in Amish, and if somebody didn't know the full correct title for authors and book names, this could give suggestions.

I don't know much about tags and wonder if they'd be complicated.

I'm also concerned that if headings got too complicated, could this give the validators more work to do? This is starting to really concern me as I'm seeing just how few validators we really have to eat the elephant that lives on step 1.

On a positive note, I like the stuff that is apparently independently submitted and validated and on Cindy's list that she publishes daily but I've never seen some of these on step one.

One last suggestion would be that I'd suggest making the link to submit a book to be easier to find on the main page. Have a blessed day. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shelley L. Rhodes" <guidinggolden@xxxxxxxxx>

One thing that would be a great improvment is to put some energy into the Victor Reader that bookshare offers to members to "access" the books. It is not reliable, or predictable, and for most students difficult to learn. At least mine it was.

We ended up using Kurzweil or doing the .html trick.

But it should be an asset to Bookshare and state that you will be able to access them, and provide support to our files, with our own software.

Have to agree with the other suggestions.

These are some great ideas. It sounds like categories, navigation, and
improved browsing for books matter a lot. I hope some of these things
will be improved in the new site when it's launched. For now, have any
of you who have a blog considered writing a post with links to some of
your favorite hard to find books? It might help people who share your
tastes finds some good reads.
