Laura,I requested the changes you are talking about of the support staff months ago. I haven't heard of any progress on this yet but it is probably because they are too busy on more critical items. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lora" <loravara@xxxxxxxxxxx>

Yes, it does. But I wanted to see what had been added recently, so I wentto the New Books page, which is where it doesn't let you do that. I guess I was thinking consistency would be a good idea. By adding the links for BRFand Daisy there, you could accommodate everyone; those who wanted to open the page for the book before downloading, and those who didn't. -----Original Message----- From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dan Beaver Sent: Saturday, November 17, 2007 9:13 AM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Bookshare Site Quirkiness By the way, I believe if you use the simple search it does allow you to download the daisy format directly from the search results. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lora" <loravara@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, November 17, 2007 10:52 AM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Bookshare Site QuirkinessHi Sue, I apologize; I assumed the Bookshare staff read this list. Besides, by putting the discussion here, I was thinking that people could offer up comments. And some have, already saying that they prefer to open up the page in order to download the book. I'll Email Bookshare directly. Thanks. -----Original Message----- From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of siss52 Sent: Saturday, November 17, 2007 7:57 AM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Bookshare Site Quirkiness Hi Lora, No one on this list could do anything about this. Why don't you write to the bookshare staff? <smile> Sue S. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lora" <loravara@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, November 17, 2007 8:40 AM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Bookshare Site Quirkiness I know. I was asking for an enhancement, to make it work like the search results page, where you can click on the BRF or Daisy link right from the search results page. -----Original Message----- From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of stacey robinson Sent: Saturday, November 17, 2007 7:12 AM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Bookshare Site Quirkiness Hi Laura, You have always had to click on the book title before downloading books. Basically, a morning to catch up on all the things I'd meant to download but hadn't got around to. I noticed a few things about the new books list. 1. It doesn't display the download links for Daisy and BRF. You actually have to click on each book, and then download from the book's page. Could this be changed? 2. When a book has more than one author, this page behaves strangely. For instance, I'm on the second page of results, looking at <http://www.bookshare.org/web/SingleTitle.html?submittitleid=46896> Adult Students: An Insider's Guide to Getting into College. I hear the title, and hit tab. It tells me the first author's name, Jen Tanabe, and I press tab again. Instead of saying the second authors name, Kelly Tanabe, it says By. Not sure why it does this, but it's definitely odd.
